Canelo Accommodations

Canelo Accommodations

We welcome you to come stay with us. We have a variety of sleeping options from our guesthouse and strawbale cottages to camping.

Our site is surrounded by the Coronado National Forest, the Audubon Research Ranch and the Canelo Hills Cienega Preserve of the Nature Conservancy.  The combined riparian zones provide a rich habitat for walking as well as wildlife, making it one of the most desired birding areas in the southwestern United States.

Our climate is on the average 10 degrees F cooler than Tucson during all times of the year.
For current weather conditions, check for Elgin, AZ.

We are located 70 miles southeast of Tucson, 17 miles south of Sonoita, and 15 miles west of Sierra Vista.
The closest restaurants are in Sierra Vista and Sonoita – both half an hour away. Dinners can be available for an extra $15 per person upon request.

Our adobe guesthouse has three bedrooms – one with a king-size bed and one with two single beds. A third room with another single bed is connected to the screened porch.
All three rooms share one bathroom.
The guesthouse has a small living room with full kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, coffee maker, stove and microwave.

Strawbale Studio

A night stay in our clay plastered studio is a perfect way to experience passive-solar strawbale.
Our studio has a double bed, small desk area with a small fridge, microwave and coffee pot.
An adobe/cob wall with a sculpted bench curves around to enclose a bathroom with a lime-plastered shower.
